Northern Wisconsin's Lake Superior shore gives the same trick as Minnesota's: open water due north and small-town darkness. Kp 5 (G1) is the realistic working threshold for a visible display.
Magnetic latitude — not geographic — decides who sees a given storm, and Wisconsin's key viewing latitude sits near 55° magnetic. As a rule of thumb from NOAA's Kp view-line:

The season runs late August to mid-April, and the weeks around the equinoxes (September–October and March) are statistically the strongest of the year. Midsummer nights are too short and bright to compete. Statistically, the strongest hours are around local magnetic midnight — roughly 10 pm to 2 am. Substorms come in cycles an hour or more apart, so a promising night deserves more than one look. A bright moon washes out faint displays; check the phase before driving.
On the Bayfield peninsula the year splits cleanly at the lake. August through October is open-water season: the equinox storm peak coincides with Superior still absorbing headlights and doubling arcs in reflection, and it is when most of the year's Kp 5 displays get seen. November and December bring the gales and the lake-effect cloud factory — statistically the hardest months to catch anything despite the long nights. Deep winter flips the equation: January and February deliver the clearest, coldest air of the year, and once the sloughs and bays freeze, the ice itself becomes a flat northern observing platform. March rides the second equinox spike with daylight returning at a civilized pace. From late May to mid-July, darkness at 47°N shrinks to a few grudging hours around 1 a.m., so only a strong storm warrants the alarm clock. Chase new moons for the marginal nights; a Kp 5 arc low over the lake is exactly the kind of display a full moon erases.
The mainland unit west of Bayfield — the Meyers Beach area — faces due north over open Superior with the islands as low silhouettes. There is effectively no light north of you until Ontario.
The east-facing shore along Highway 13 has repeated public water accesses where the town glow stays behind the trees. Locals watch from here because the drive from a warm house is ten minutes, which matters at −15°.
At the Door Peninsula's tip, Wisconsin's only wilderness state park holds a dark-sky designation. Its shoreline looks north up Lake Michigan — the east side of the state's best answer to Bayfield.
Inland but deeply dark, with the state forest soaking up any stray light between Superior's south shore and the highlands. Useful when the lakeshore is fogged in.
At 55° magnetic latitude, Kp 5 — a G1 storm — is the working threshold for a visible arc low over Superior, and Kp 7 pushes structured colour toward the zenith. Face due north across the water; the lake guarantees fifty miles of darkness that no inland site can match. On Kp 4 nights the honest play is camera-first: a wide 15-second frame will confirm the green rim above the water before your eyes commit to the cold.
