One page, plain language, on purpose. This is the standard license for the Observatory's commercial media products — rendered clips and stills, live embeds, and API keys. It rides alongside your order email, which names the products, the price, and your properties.
Deliverables are rendered files (clips, stills) we produce and hand to you under a paid order. Embeds & keys are the live iframe widgets, API endpoints, and render quotas activated by an API key issued to you during partner onboarding — the API surface is per-partner and stays offline until then. Everything is produced by the Observatory's physics engine — there is no generative AI in the render path.
Deliverables: use them worldwide, perpetually, in your own editorial and promotional products — broadcast, streaming, digital, social — with the attribution and labeling below. You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute them as standalone assets (no stock libraries, no handing them to other outlets).
Embeds & keys: use them on the properties (domains, apps, screens) named in your order, for as long as your license is paid up. Keys are per-organization and non-transferable.
Attribution: "The Space Weather Observatory — spaceweatherobservatory.com" appears on-screen or immediately adjacent, on every use. For broadcast clips, the supplied lower-third does it.
Labeling: this content is a physics simulation — of measured storm data for the reconstructions, of forecast or synthetic driving where so labeled. The supplied provenance wording (e.g. "Physics simulation · real storm data · not AI") must remain legible wherever the content runs. Cropping, blurring, or dropping the label — or presenting a simulation as camera footage — is a material breach and ends the license immediately. The Observatory's credibility is the product; we protect it in writing.
Invoiced via Stripe (card or ACH). One-time products (clips, packs) are perpetual once paid. Recurring licenses (widgets, annuals, API tiers) renew until cancelled — cancel anytime, effective at the end of the paid cycle, no clawbacks. Founding rates are locked for two years from your first order. If an invoice goes 14 days unpaid, keys pause until it's settled.
This is a one-builder observatory with serious automation behind it. Support is direct with the builder: best-effort, business-day. Embeds and APIs inherit the availability of the underlying platforms (GitHub Pages, Cloudflare) — no further uptime guarantee is sold, which is priced in.
The engine, the site, and rendered output remain the Observatory's intellectual property; you own your productions that incorporate them. Content is provided as-is; total liability is capped at the fees you paid in the three months before a claim, and neither side owes the other consequential damages.
Reply "agreed" to the order email that references these terms, or pay the first invoice that references them — whichever happens first. The version stamp at the top of this page is part of your order; term changes are never applied retroactively to a running license.
